Supervised by the artistic team, four young italian choreographers will create original choreographies of max. 20 minutes with up to 10 dancers which will be shown during the 6th International Biennale of Contemporary Dance, organized by La Biennale di Venezia in June 2008.

New italian choreographers on beauty

Through different and repeated performative situations, simultaneous and often correlated, four young Italian choreographers introduce some contemporary interpretations of the topic of beauty, according to modality of action outside a sovereign subject, and able to put in crisis the notion of more customary beauty, showing responsibility of a point of view, the necessity of its to act in the world. In these danced reflections on beauty, the variety of the space reflects in full load this liberation from the preestablished order, thus as the simultaneously happening performances assume an independent responsibility of the spectator in the possible succession of its choices.

Also the video images of Lutz Gregor, in tightened dialogue with the space and the choreographic movement, propose an approach to the spiritual and political body, with a strong commitment to the iconography of the Italian school (Duccio, Fra Angelico, Caravaggio, Signorelli), as an ulterior plan and parallel to an emotional vision.

At last, the perpetual movement of the ’soundscape‘ (alternations of noises city, quiet appearing, sounds of bugs or mixed electronic frequencies) created from Paki Zennaro refere to the contemporary sonorous world: a surrounding liquid able of to be crossed, without obligation, from the architectures of the spaces, and from the bodies that inhabit them.
